greatfit.ai vs Teal

A score tells you a number. We tell you why.

Teal is a well-liked job-search workspace, with a generous free plan, a Chrome extension and a tracker that keeps a busy search organized. Its Job Matcher compares a job's keywords with your résumé. greatfit.ai answers a different question: what does this employer most want to hear, and which part of your career says it? Then it writes the application around the answer.

What each one tells you about a job

Teal

Keywords from the job, marked present or missing in your résumé, and a Match Score on Teal+. An invite-only beta, Teal Pro, adds a fit percentage.

greatfit.ai

A written verdict on a five-step scale, the three things this employer most wants and the evidence from your career that answers each, the gaps, and a plan for the application.

A keyword match tells you which words a job uses that your résumé doesn't. On keywords alone, Marisol covers a good part of the health system posting in the example below. greatfit.ai read it against her whole career and rated it Very Bad: the right words, at coordinator level, for a vice president's job. It tells you what the employer wants, how you answer it, and where the words alone would mislead you.

greatfit.ai's written verdict on a five-step scale

Using a fictional candidate, we created a sample fit analysis to show how the same career can be a great fit for one job and a bad fit for another. Marisol Hartley has nine years of operations and program work: first running a patient transportation program for community clinics, then in freight logistics, where she led a software rollout to 14 hubs.

Job Opportunity #1

Vice President, Patient Access

Running patient scheduling and transportation for six hospitals, with a $60M budget and 400 staff.

Fit: Very Bad

“Her current scope is a team of 4 coordinators and a $1.4M contract, compared to the role's 400-person organization and $60M budget. … These are structural, confirmed gaps that represent hard dealbreakers for this specific opportunity.”

Job Opportunity #2

Senior Program Manager

Rolling out new dispatch software to 18 freight terminals, and proving people use it.

Fit: Very Good

“Marisol Hartley's dossier maps with unusually high fidelity to this role. … No hard dealbreakers are present.”

Both postings use plenty of her words. Only one is worth her evening.

Marisol Hartley, her employers and both jobs are invented. The verdicts and summaries are quoted from greatfit.ai's fit analysis, run on October 6, 2026, with “…” marking text left out.
